I GUESS HE LIKED IT BECAUSE HE PUT A RING ON IT...

My divorce last year was horrible.

I wasn't looking specifically for anyone "new" in my life (meaning "serious"), but just wanted to start living life again.  Have a companion to go do stuff with (movies, dinner, walks, talking, etc.).  I missed being "me" (which equates to being among the "land of the living" and enjoying life).

I will share the story of how I met, "My Army guy" on a later post (I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things with my blog), but for now...just know that...

1)  We went on a large group family vacation last week (14 of us in a great beach house in NC).
2)  He proposed to me on the beach after an after-dinner walk.
3)  Everyone else in the house KNEW he was going to propose, BUT ME!
4)  I said, "YES!"
5)  We aren't setting a date until AFTER my son graduates next June 2012.  Reasoning?  Teenagers are hard enough to raise with their OWN parents...let's put a new marriage, a new husband with a hormonal teenager whose moods are like the tide and who knows EVERTHING and what?  Hope for the best?
Nah!  I think we will take our time.  My son has already been through enough changes and doesn't need anymore while trying to graduate high school.  My Army guy understands this, so everyone is on the same page.  No one will be "moving in" or "moving out."

We are blessed and grateful to have found each other, dating exclusively for the past 9 months and will relish and enjoy this engagement until next year sometime.

  1. Congratulations. It sounds like you found a great guy. Great decisions on waiting until after the graduation.

  3. Patty,

I am desperate. I have been following Meghan's blog for three years. My twin boys were born 3 weeks before here 3 gorgeous babies. She hadn't posted since July and I feared the worst. Please tell me what has happened as I have a huge hole in my heart learning from your comment that she is gone. Please fill me in.
