FUN FREEDOM FRIDAY

Friday is my absolute FAVORITE day of the week. I can get through work and then know that I have "freedom" until Monday morning. That sounds like a lot of days off to me. At least I try and convince myself of that. haha

Plans this weekend include my monthly scrapbooking session at a local church Saturday from 10 am until 5 pm! Love it! It's MY time to get away from my house...no husband, no teenager, no dogs. Just me and my scrapbooking friends along with pictures, memories, paper, stickers and creativeness!
I am planning my son's 16th birthday party. It's ONE month from today. Actually, today I have to call and make an appointment for him to take his driving test to get his license on his birthday.
This was our conversation a few months ago:

Matt: Mom, I have the day of my 16th birthday all worked out. You have to take the day off from work.

Me: Huh?

Matt: Yeah, and I'm taking off the day from school. I am going to sleep in and then you'll take me so I can get my license. Sounds good, right?

Me: I guess...(me thinking: sounds good for whom?)
Anyway, I did request off the day from work, will make the appointment and get to spend this important day with "my baby."

He knows no matter how old he is or how big he gets, he will ALWAYS be my baby. My one and only. I've tried to live my life being Matt's mom with "no regrets." Knowing I was getting one shot to raise one child...I wanted to do everything that I could so I wouldn't look back and regret my chance.

I worked part time night shift for 3-1/2 years from 1st through 4th grade in order to be able to take him to/from school, be a homeroom mom, go on EVERY field trip, volunteer at his school, bring treats to school for his birthday parties, etc.

Next month won't be any different. Taking the day off from work to be with my "turning of age" son...No regrets here! <3
