I would never have believed the "skinny mirror" had I not saw it first hand, a few years ago, in my friend Shannon's closet.
This is not a "fun house mirror" that made you look like a freak of nature at a carnival. This full length mirror made you appear thinner than you really were. It was kinda nice. Not realistic, but nice.
The other day, my husband said he had a full length mirror he was going to hang on the back of the bedroom door. I'm not sure where he got the mirror from (found in the attic from the prior owners of the house?), but when I saw it propped up against the wall of the bedroom waiting for him to hang it, I couldn't believe my eyes!

Seriously! I did a couple side views of myself. The head over the shoulder to catch a glimpse of my backside. Yep! I have myself a skinny mirror.
I'm working on losing some extra "poundage" that I've gained over the past couple years and I'm thinking maybe, just maybe this skinny mirror can help me.
Help me stay motivated on the days I feel "excessively fat", or bloated from AF or happy that my clothes are fitting better.
I'm going to use it to my benefit!
LOL Patty!
ReplyDeleteI now try to avoid the skinny mirror because it tricks me into thinking what I'm wearing is acceptable when it sometimes is not. I'll be all, "hey, this looks pretty good!" then go in the bathroom and see myself and want to die.
We're working on the details to a gym membership. I hope they have skinny mirrors :)
