When I was a teenager, a Cleveland radio station used to play that song EVERY Friday at 5 pm. I don't think it was the David Bowie version, but to me, that song officially started the weekend.I also like the Todd Rundgren song, "I don't want to work...I just want to bang on the drum all day." That's another "Friday song."
QUESTION...What says to you, "The weekend is here?"

ReplyDeleteI know it's the weekend when the neighborhood streets are jammed with kids on bikes, grills are flavoring the air and you can hear every working person within 5 miles sigh.

What says Friday to me? 4:38 when I can clock out. I get in my car and drive home, my kids greeting me at the door along with the dog. Off to gymnastics, where it sinks in that I don't have to pack lunches or get school clothes out for tomorrow. Mom comes over for dinner, we watch a few things she taped over the week and major snuggles with my youngest, who just isn't that young anymore!
